It's a strange thing, becoming an orphan at 16. To lose your family long before you've had time to create your own to replace it. It's a very specific sort of loneliness.
My recommendation for our third book of the year is by Swedish author Frederik Backman and translated by Henning Koch. A Man Called Ove picks up on many of the themes dealt with in the books on our list: growing up, growing old, learning, and coping. Here is the worksheet.
